The System Is The Solution

Deming taught us that 94% of problems are system-driven. We're here to fix the system—so owners, designers, and builders can do their best work together.

Our Story

In 1999, Genesis was born from a pilot project with Steelcase and Workstage, with a mission to revolutionize how buildings are planned and constructed. We saw firsthand how traditional construction methods were failing owners, architects, and builders alike.

What started as a small team of industry veterans and systems thinkers has grown into a movement. Today, we're partnering with Building Catalyst to bring data-driven decision making and proven management principles to construction projects of all sizes.

From Deming to Genesis

In the 1980s, Toyota forced a shift in American manufacturing by proving that even simple products like cars benefit from a systems-based approach to improving value and reducing waste. If cars require a system, how much more do buildings—the world's largest, most complex products? Now, after decades of research and development, Genesis and its technology partner Building CATALYST bring that same proven management philosophy to construction planning, design, and delivery. All it takes is a few bold innovators—owners, consultants, designers, and builders—willing to lead the change.
